The aston martin wasn't a runner, and both of those E Types have been restored to their former glory, the red one finished about 2 years ago from memory.

As for cooper or not, the production team basically got their hands on any cheap minis they could, it was actually a fairly low budget film in many respects - for instance the bus in the film doubled as transport for the whole film crew while not shooting. Remember this was the late sixties, there would have been tons of cheap minis cooper or otherwise that could have been up to 7-8 yrs old already.

exploded well for a car with no motor and no fuel tank from memory... havent watched my copy yet (still in its wrap)

Any one remember this one cos I can't remember the name?

On the ABC many years ago, 70's, 80's there was a drama serial about a space frame Mini special sedan racer with a female driver.
Showed the car being built and tested etc. All part of the story line.
Good show.

mate that sounds like it needs a question of its own.. i dont know if many will look back here again... ABC shop might be able to help if you have one local.. i will ask next time i go to pac fair, but i dont go that often..
