I paid $300 for my twin 1.5 su's, cooper s manifold, linkages the lot.
Off ausmini, had been advertised for ages. I've seen other sets go for bout the same price on ebay. I'd say $300 is about the going rate

I'm with benoz, Barney's twin HS4s setup I got (OK.. a year or 2 ago) for $250.
Off a member here.

$600? maybe, if new....

<edit> but I agree with Boostedmini- lots of good bits there, even if the block is toasted (may not be).

An 1100s motor is a good buy. Period !!!!! They are a good motor, mostly not thrashed and good recondition prospect.

A EN crankshaft is generally 30 plus years of hard work and now a bit brittle.
Most of us are not racing and the number of times we need a sustained 7.5 grand is pretty limited. By the time the BMC Corp was doing 1100s's, they had the motors pretty well sorted bar the big revvers

Buy the bloody motor and get on with it !!!!!!!

1100S auto or 1300 auto is good too. Never had a rev in their life, their cranks are usually in better nick.
I scored a std/std one.. and was too good to regrind! :D

couldnt you just get the block re sleaved (i think thats what it is, where they fit new cylinder bores in) or along those lines, and he says something about the problem being rings, if thats the case thats easy.

Once a block gets out to 1380 it's pretty hard to sleeve as it's so thin between cylinders. But yeah can be done sometimes, costs $$$ though. Another block = lots cheaper.

$2500 for a cooper s maybe, the twin su's are worth $300 not $600
Sounds dear to me!

1 1/2 in SU twins are about 20-30 percent dearer than their 1 1/4 in bretheren - I sold my 1 1/4 in SU's for $400 - so 5-600 rods is a reasonable ask considering they are over $1200 new

MO only - cheap I think
