um,

oops!

I got mixed up and confused 0.05" as 5 thou! You know like 0.01" is 10 thou!! I don't think I counted the decimal places. :?

Cheers

I`ll let you off this time,,, :-)

you had me there for a while tho,,,had to go back & actually read my own posts,

I really do try to type & proof read my posts to make sure i don`t give the wrong info,,,cause it`s all there in black & white & anyone doing something that i wrongly typed, then i`d feel responsible for it,,,

i know we`re only human (well some of us) & we all make mistakes,,,,take my dad for example, he made a big mistake sleeping with my mum that night & look what happened, he made a "Mini Me", now that`s a big mistake!!!

ok,,,i`ll shut up & stop dribbling sh!t now :-)

Are the gearbox case and fly wheel housing the original ones or has one been changed?

Yes they are. Primary gear may be from another motor though....

How far have you stripped it ???
Maybe the answer is fairly simple. The shims on either side of the idler gear come in varying thicknesses to cope with vary thickness in the transfer casing.

So how far have you stripped it

Yep they do, but to swap them the motor needs to come out. He's just jacked it up, & pulled the flywheel off.

He's tickling a few other things at Xmas whilst it's out.:)
