that is cool... i wish i had the balls to buy cars off ebay... I am always scared that you will get an envelope with the pictures in for the money.

Those things look pretty nice. The back looks raised up or it could be the pic.

You should get a little red light that under the grill like night rider. that would be nice

I have bought a few cars off ebay now - basically they have all been reasonable cars for the price paid and sold by honest sellers.

I feel that if a car looks reasonable then it probably is. That is - with plus and minus expected faults. I am wary of tarted up cars, project cars and absolute bargains. Its a fair market price for a fair car.

So far - the cars by ebay include - Morris 1100s, Mazda 929, VN Commodore, 308 holden one tonner , a couple of minis and most recently a Marina. None of them have been a disappointment but all have needed some work to be right.

I would agree I have bought 2 x 1100S, 1 clubman, 1 deluxe of ebay

each time I have found the sellers to be honest and helpful.
each time I have paid cash when I have picked the car up and if the car has not been described accurately I have been prepared to walk away (I think this is fair). All of the cars I have bought I have no problems with and I don't think I have been ripped off.

I would consider it brave for me anyway to buy a car from overseas but if you know what your doing and what to look for I reckon it would be safe enough.

I agree also I am wary about projects / conversions a lot of the time I think these things are started by people that don't know what is involved and once they have stuffed it up / got in over thier head they look to bail and put the lot on ebay. Also I am not really interested in highly modded cars (I do like the idea of an AWD mini though) so these don't really interest me.

my 2 cents
Generally if the buyer is willing to take cash / cheque when you pick up the car they are on the level I find. Otherwise you'd see the real condition and bail out of the sale. I always keep this option of bailing open because I agreed to buy based on the description if the vechile does not match the description then it the sale is null and void IMO.

It can be scary buying a car from overseas but people are people and you can bet that as soon as a new thing like Ebay started there were crooks lining up to rip people off. there is a new scam now going on overseas where scammers are grabbing the pictures of other peoples unsold cars and advertising them in a new listing with buy it now low prices, always ask questions and check the sellers feedback ratings and make sure to ask for copies of the english rego papers V5,even if the vehicle is out of rego and in a shed you have to have what they call SORN papers for it, if they don't want to help you then don't bid
