But they shouldnt have been worn.

They have been in the car 7 or 8 months.

Mini hasnt been taken off road, taken on any bumpy roads, only day to day suburban driving.

Dont know if its all over yet though :(

He still has to test drive it.....hopefully theres no bad noises coming from the gearbox...

So nervous!!!

Yes I can imagine how nervous you are especially being so far from home. But hopefully that is all that will need doing.

Just goes to show you there are some really nice people out there :).

Anyway I hope its all sorted for you and you will be able to make it home soon :)..

Biggest enemy of the rubber unis is OIL. Make sure you aren't getting oil on `em... hard I know.

Ahhhh...that might be it then.

Im slowly learning all these bits of info

Im probably actually also getting Brake fluid on them aswell. It was the front right that went, and my master cylinders needs replacing...and the slave.

So im guessing 8 months of brake fluid wouldnt do the rubber any good at all.

Just to make you feel better - just a month or so back i did something very stupid. I had changed the engine in my mini and spentmost of a day (literally) trying to get the engine mounts lined with the holes in the sub-frame.

I was working in a shearing shed and only had a day to get it going - in sheer frustrated stupidity and physical exhaustion from the shed, I took the car down the road (I live in the country and have a 100 kph road at the gate) for a blat to settle the engine down on the engine mounts.

The second time I pulled second (after a U turn) the engine walked forward, pulling the drive shaft out of the pot joint and fired balls all over the country side. A neighbour towed me home and in a fit of pique, I ignored that the mini even lived here for nearly a month.

Sigh !!!!!!
