had it since august. Got it for $9200. BRG and white roof and bonnet stripes '93 mayfair manual SPI. Has been in Aus since 2001.

Am saving to do heaps to it. These are just photos from the web when i found the car.
in next few months will get 13" wheels (not sure which ones yet), sportsapck arches, clear lenses, white cooper mirrors, new cooper grille, badges, then il save up again and start on the interior.

Runs great and sounds great, the last owner did heaps to the car mechanically.

most late model cars have them. Check out the inside of a bombadoor fuel filler. you just need to remove the neck and then remove the flap and plate. then weld, or pop rivit it into the mini neck.

Can I come and watch you do this sometime....from a kilometre away through binoculars maybe

I have a 1993 Rover Mini Mayfair. It's black with a silver Union Jack sticker on the roof. I have put some extra's on it, chrome bits and a new stereo set up, also redone the interior, but nothing too over the top.

I got it from Sydney in December 2002, it's an auto and I didn't want an auto but loved it when I saw it. It's my go-kart. I paid $12,500 for it, including transport to Melbourne. Cost me about $100 for RWC. It was fully complied and had been registered in Sydney prior to me buying it.

I don't know how to load pics on here, but no doubt you've seen pics of it before on other forums. I also have 2 clubbys and a new mini, but none gets looks like this one when I'm cruisin around.

Ok Lucas, bit late on the reply, but here is mine - a 1994 SPi. Tyical of the majority of ex-Japanese Rovers it's that colour that they think is lucky. So far as the electrics go, it's been very unlucky from day 1. Basically it required lots of f words to get it right.
As for your question on price, you maybe better to ask what $$$ these owners think they could replace these for, especially including road registered. Pre 1988 is easy, but current SEVS restrictions have Rovers at rising prices. Some info here http://www.ozcooper.com.au/latest_news.htm .

Ahh-hah!

I now know who owns the burgundy Mayfair (MJC 087) which was sitting in the car park at work intermittently throughout Nov & Dec.

That is a really nice looking car mrcoombs. Classy but understated, improved but not spoiled (IMHO)!!

I started working in November (after arriving from UK in September) and on the way to work one day in my first week I saw three minis on Centenary Drive and caught a glimpse of the ausmini.com sticker but not enough to be sure of the full address.

I then arrived at work to find this beautiful Mayfair sitting in the car park at work, again with an ausmini sticker, which happily led me to register here!

I've seen it quite a few times since but never noticed who gets in or out or had a chance to speak with them.

Next time you're at Lidcombe, mrcooms, hopefully you'll see my 1990 Cooper RSP parked up as it's cleared customs & quarantine and soon to be Blue-slipped and rego'd. (That's if I get it all done before my contract ends at the start of Feb!!)

Watch this space...
