On my MK 2 S I've always used 10 x 7 half spun Pfitzner Cooper S wheels fully chromed for contrasting effect against the black bodywork of the car. These wheels have only one weld (wideneing wheels by putting a metal strip in the middle and welding it either side is illegal, but using two halves with one weld is ok). I don't think these spun halves are available any longer. I've used a variety of road and wet racing tyres over the years, some better than others, but I've never had any major problems and it hangs on round corners really well.

The site of a lowered Cooper S with Group 5 arches and wide 7 inch wheels is very eye-catching and quite rare these days.

On another note, the latest issue of Mini Magazine to go on sale here has some news about some super new Japanese 10 inch alloys that are supposed to fit over any Mini suze discs. Anyone else see this?
