shock is the most amazing thing in the world, i was trapped in the car for an hour and didnt feel a thing the whole time, was just cold. and I could feel all of my teeth out of their holes dangling out of my mouth and my face and chest was sticky with blood, but that was it, what about you mimi mad??
I was sitting there awake the whole time, didnt see the impact saw every second up to it and from every second after it, waiting and waiting for an ambulance, then the helicopter came and i remember the cool flight.. getting cut out of the car before it blew up, getting a blood transfusion.. and i remember them ripping all my clothes off, grrr..
Gotta love the shock, i had adrenalin as well from sliding along the road at 60km/h..certainly isn't something you do everyday! It's amazing how the brain shuts down all pain response.
I came off, went into a concrete wall at a good 30km/h and got deflected across a bridge. I was concious the whole time, and can still remember it all happening as if it was slow motion.
Once I stopped i knew i was in the middle of the road with oncoming cars in peak hour traffic. So I got up straight away and had a thought to myself how lucky i was. Brain started going through the motions..legs ok, brain good, walking(ish)..well that's good, no broken bones, that internal pain ain't so good..I managed to stumble off the road where some guys out of their stopped cars got me and helped me to the kerb..
I didn't even know i had my knee cap showing through my leg until a day after when the surgeon said he has to stitch it back up. I wasn't able to move anything from my arms down for a few days. The internal pain certainly hurt a few moments after that's for sure.
I was put on morphine and that's great stuff, had good dreams with it and most people have nightmares apparently..I had the button to self dose..haha they couldn't get the trigger out of my hand
