A) whats the point of complaining over fairly trivial matters in a separate post rather than just putting whoever you reckon is in the wrong in their place in the actual post?
Why bag someone having a whinge who obviously cares about the state of the place? I think it is healthy that people care.

I mean I come to this forum mostly for factual information and try not to post irrelevantly (I think my 1000 post count despite being here right from the start is proof enough) but obviously many others don't. Why shouldnt those people be entitled to have this place as a social meeting place (beyound the simple techical forum) if they choose to?
It is wrong to wish there were less stirrers & more Mikes on the forum?

Statements like "the young guys (<19 say) are pretty annoying, and sometimes disrespectful. I don't remember being like that when I was that old" (Zizzle) (usualy means that youre getting old and are forgetting staff so can happily claim that back then water was wetter and politicians honest)
Well, I'm probably not as old as you think I am (<30), but I reckon we didn't get away with it as kids because we would get a boot up the arse if we carried on. No hiding behind a keyboard then.
But yeah, I agree that what I said was too harsh. There are kids on here who do listen, and don't pretend they know everything, and don't stink the place up with spam and smart arse remarks. They may even be the majority, but the bad apples get the spotlight.

but also many posts are purely social - should we stop them from posting too?
Was anyone arguing against social posts?
Some of my favourite characters on here are the funny guys who rarely post anything technical (hi gadget
