Dorothy 1962 has English fleck trim but like yours was dove grey. John or Larry at Padstow mini spares 02 9774 33 66 may be able to help you with your trim, Is it red salt and pepper or red on red lizard skin sounds like salt and pepper but a pic would be good in fact a few would be good.

The grey 1964 Austin mini is a super deluxe so is quite different to yours as it has Cooper exterior and interior accessories as standard. And my traveller is a MKI English traveller and is also an 850 and different again with fleck and spanish red.

There are no records really on early Oz cars. There's some info about on Cooper S build dates but SFA on 850s and Deluxes etc.
Does it have a 1-piece stuck in roof lining, or the old 2-piece slide in one.
The 1-piece (which my 850 had) came mid-late 64.

Mine has the single piece stick in roof lining, it isnt original, but i think they are the original bars out of it, my dads 63 has the 2 piece slide in lining so i know what you mean by that.

Would have been nice for them to have compliance plates, not just build plates that tell you SFA. bastards
ah well

Cheers

Rohan

You will see that your dads has a self tapper holding the two-piece in place above each door pillar in the middle....if you also have those screw holes then that could mean you originally had the two piece.

Mine is registered as a 1964 . The oldest date is on wiper motor 10/64 , so does this make it a 1965 ?? . Car number 56562 , Engine No. 17148 . On the radiator shroud it has the number 56861 and next to that in a circle is M2 with 15 under it . Anyone know what that means ??

If your car is numbered 64 its a 64

Where some people get confussed is they say they have 65 Morris 850 which isn't possible production stoped 64. They insist its a 65 why because thats when it was first registered after having sat in the yard before it was sold then registered in the new year.

yeah my car has the 2 piece lining. i took it out very carefully and have given it a clean. it has come up absolutely flawless. everything on my car says its a late 1963 model. i just cant figure out if the little oval switch panel is suppoes to be the silvery grey that it is. i thought that all sliding window 850s had a white panel. what do the correct seat belts look like. any one got any pics on what the original ones should look like?

Seat belts (front only) were not mandatory fitment untill 1966 I think.
When we wrapped a `61 850 around a tree in 1965, the car had no belts.
I'm REAL lucky to be here... :)
