I think that that is a better idea, I knew of one chap who also had a road saloon hillclimb mini with a twin, same plates and chassis number, that would go off to the m.o.t station for its rego and pass. Then he would bring out the other twin for hillclimbing.
Was a brutal thing with a semi space frame rear and an alleged 25000 ukp engine and gearbox set up.
He still got beaten

Looked great when you first painted it , still looks pretty good now in the listing . What did you use for the boot hinges ?

Went totally high tec and plasma cut some stainless steel.......
ok, not really, I got some old house door hinges, welded a "U" shaped metal bar onto one side, and bolted the other side of hinge to the boot floor, and welded a flange onto the other end of the "U" and bolted that to the inside of the boot lid.

Quality all the way..... it got the job done

Well , they worked while you had it and presumably still work for the current and possibly new owner so who cares if they were so low tech . Certainly tidied up the rear of the car .
