hey doc, how did it cost that much? i got a quote for 2pak primer with hardner(4l primer 2l hardner) 4L acrylic colour, all for 275. (all concept paint). thinners doesn't cost much. $20 for 4L.

Buggered if I know, that was with the so-called `January discount' too.
Could have been worse- Brad's bill for the `matic in white pearl was ~$750.
Maybe we get ripped off up here- where did you buy from?

HEY THIS WAS 2 PACK COLOUR not acrylic. It's expensive...

i used to get industrial Dulux 2 pac mixed up at Dulux Trade centre down at Port road alberton, Adelaide. I used to give them a PMS colour swatch to match, and it was spot on. Gave a great finish too and was'nt too expensive what i can remember.

I worked at a place in Melbourne, Braeside (more specific) called Race Paint, they've done alot of stuff all over australia. One of there most famous was the Sandman, that Holden requested in which Race Paint painted. Anyways we used Dupont, im a firm believer that this stuff is top shite.

Cushman, just an idea, i dunno how it would turn out, but could possibly a cheaper option, what about Acrylic with a high gloss over the top?

Coops,
I got a 1L tin of Concept Paints BRG 2-pack mixed for Barney's door a couple of weeks ago, cost was $68. It's dear stuff.... compared to acrylic lacquer.

I was looking at a huge bill for 2pac. I want my mini looking good....but I cant afford 1k paint job.

Im sticking to acrylic (what the car came with from factory), and going NV Green (same as what is on the sticker in the engine bay).

Should cost me less then $350 all up it think...thats for primer + paint + thinners

From what I've been told that anything like minor chips/scratches/crevices in the primer/bodywork will show up straight throuch acrylic. But, i'll find out for sure in 2 weeks time.
