Revenge, eh?

Does said neighbour drive a rear-wheel-drive car?

Just screw the diff plug out, chuck in a small (about 5mm round) ball-bearing, and put the plug back in.

Ball bearing+diff pinion+crown wheel= BANG

Sounds like fun to me.

while I do agree with JAM_IT, some people can be abit whacko about thier peace and quiet.

We were renting a year and a half ago and the house had a single drive. We have 3 cars and had to shuffle them every now and then. Now, I work shift work and I would move my falcon out to get the mini out for work or vice versa at 2pm before my arvo shift. The knobs across the road wrote a note saying not to keep moving our cars ALL DAY or they would call the cops!!!

Uummm, how do I get my car out if my partners car or my falcon is in the way? It took a minute every other day. I don't care that she was a 'stay at home mum' and had a toddler, I had to get my car out!

We bought a house soon enough anyway but I just thought they were rude telling us to not move our cars in the middle of the day. I also sleep during the day because of shift work but people have to be able to live their lives and not tip toe just coz you are asleep!

What Jam said is true.. but if your neighbours have a problem with the sound the should at least have enough balls to come and let you know that it's disturbing them.. Don't be a **** and go call the cops straight away.. People like that crap me. Can't sort anything out themselves..

I hate the curtain twitchers that never say a word and never put there name to any complaint. My neighbour finally stopped calling all the authorities after she wa s told I was doing nothing illegal.

Maybe you should talk to them and see if can to some agreement. (the voice of reason is over-riding the anarchist that suggests that you set fire to the letterbox)

i suggest you put an add in the paper for a garage sale at your neighbours house. starts 6am sat morning - just ring the doorbell.

they will be sure to have people all morning ringing the doorbell, they will get no sleep :P

(make sure you keep them awake with loud music etc. the whole night before)

The problem with this is that the newspapers keep and will reveal who placed an ad if its proven to be bogus or malicious. The concept is good but the practice is a good way to end up in the courts.

Just sprinkle white clover seed on their lawn every night after dark when you walk the dog passed their place. Its guarranteed at 97% germination.

Interesting point.

A lot of 'new' parents get over protective of their kids, which includes the noise factor. My wife is guilty of this, and so are our neighbours with small kids.

I can relate to why your neighbour asked you to stop moving your cars, but really, doing that during the middle of the day is pretty harmless. It wouldn't bother me, but as I said, new mums can be sensitive to these things

Cities are silly,
They make people drink lots of beer and be angry. And all they need to do is run away to the bush.

When I moved to my latest place (a duplex rental with a shared 2 car garage) I told all the neighbours that I met that I was going to be making a racket at various weekends fixing my car. Said that if they wanted some peace and quite, come and give me a yell and organise a better time.

My duplex neighbours make a racket normally on Friday nights. Signing to loud crappy music (hello people, Craig David?!? What are you thinking... there's no accounting for taste).

But it's no like I would jump up and down about it. Give a little take a little.

In fact routine makes it much more bearable. If I know there will a racket until late on fridays then I will stay out later, or whatever.

You post them a shoebox full of fresh dog turds. Get a mate to send it from a different suburb. They will get a fragrant surprise when they take it home and open it. I have done this myself. They will look at you puzzled next time they see you. And please try and smile sarcatically at them after. Works a treat I recon.

God some people are such wingers... If someone has to work night shift and they have to move a couple of cars around tough crap. Work at night sleep during the day, how do you think the night shift guy feels when you move your car during the day waking him up all the time.. Like every one has said be considerate of others, why is no one being considerate of the night shifter?? (and no i dont work night shifts)
