nobody has "right of way" ever. everybody has responsibibility to NOT hit everyone else always.

merging is like doing up a zipper - one tooth from one side, next tooth from other side. too many people obviously grew up with buttons or velcro

try riding a motorcycle and see what happens with disrespect. but somehow i'm still alive and kicking

my wife's boss, who is a well respected professor of surgery at a large Sydney teaching hospital, can't drive for crap. the man has absolutely no idea of the danger he is to everyone else. my wife had to drive with him to another hospital yesterday, and he nearly got them run over by a semi-trailer turning left (with indicators clearly on), but from the right lane (common practice for trucks), but this idiot decides that he will drive up the left side of the truck  only stops when my wife yells "crap" as the truck is starting to turn onto them. my wife won't drive with him ever again.

73% of statistics are made up on the spot

I must say i have never had a problem merging or changing lanes in the mini..it's just too god damned easy!

I can't stand driving past people on the freeway who are STOPPED at the end of the on ramp just before it ends. Retards are going to get someone hurt, how the bloody hell are you supposed to merge with cars going 110kmh+ from a standstill? The on ramps are huge, use them and get to the speed limit quickly so you can merge safely. Why do people brake? ffs useless.

cause the dam parentals only let me go 80 k's an hour cause i'm on my L's and if your lined up perfectly to come into beside a truck it dosen't pull out for you and you have to wait, they always travel in packs so you then have to wait for a few to pass by which stage your stuck at the end of a merge lane.

don't worry everything will change once i get my P's. 8)

You just have to back off a little and slip in behind the truck. (squeezng the next truck back a little) The truck drivers are professionals and they will let you in rather than hit you! If you can't merge a car into a gap can you imagine merging a truck into the same size gaps?

hey when i say these trucks gang up i mean they are really close. slip stream style. there is no way you can merge between em. you got to be a bloody prescion stunt driver to do that.

and usualy i have enough room to just get infront of the first one, but i mean just and i am only able to do 80 so then they all get there feathers ruffled.

(this stopping thing only happenned twice and it was around the the very begging of the time i got my L's so mabey i am over reacting, mabey i have improved, mabey it is just a bad memory of what if situation...mabey...)

Yeah they are/were required by law to travel 100M apart, I seem to remember.
As if...

Better look at the rule book! If there is an on-ramp the 100m rule probably won't apply.

rules are rules.

i am telling you these three trucks had 3 car spaces between them now when there going 110 and your on your L's that kind a gap is kinda hard to get into, even with a mini. (i may have been in the feroza but same diff)

If they are doing 110 and they are nose to tail and you are only doing 80 you shouldn't have to back off much to slip in behind the last one.

Not in a mini, but a small car nonetheless...
I was coming home from my first solo drive in Melbourne, and was coming down the on ramp to the HWY at 100, and this falcon sat right nexrt to me. I slowed down, and so did he. I sped up, and so did he. So i got stuck at the end of the ramp, unable to merge into traffic, because of this w****r. I had to get up to spped in the emergency stopping lane just to be able to get back on the road..
Along the HWY the majority of drivers leave the left lane empty to allow easy merging during busy times, but not this time.

THeres also the tools who take the Torquay road turn off and stop at the end of it cos theres cars drivng up it. Normally thats not a problem, but at this particular point, there are about 3 signs that say "added lane", NO give way/stop sign, and very obvious road paint markings. THERE IS NO NEED TO STOP! Before that point, the road you are trying to get on is 1 lane. Also, this turn off is off a rather BUSY part of the HWY in Belmont, and a lot of people take this turnoff, so when these people stop, the traffic getsbacked up to the previous intersection, and contributes to the havoc in CORIO!

Thers gonna ba an accident there one day...

WEll i'd love to continue this whinge, i've got plenty more, but i think i've said them all before.
