What if you need to open it further when some fat person needs to get in and you can't?

And what if you are really close to a car? or a car is really close to you? the strap wont help at all then..

nah...no time today. That idea of the plastic strip at a hardware may be a winner. I'm going to crack this one. The fat people string was funny though. There's a make over show on TV tonight with the fattest person on the plant. Couldn't bring myself to watch it, but saw the promo. This chick could carry a mini in her tummy! :)

thats cool. that would work and looks like it's standard plastic soft tubing. Thanks. :)

one thing...not really for sale cause not sure how much they are worth..... I have four standard steel 10" rims that I got as extras with my car. They really just need a good paint.... They are straight ...no bent edges or anything. Any idea how much they are worth. Anything?

try going to clark rubber?
the clear plastic tube is a good idea, but will stick out a bit and might not stay on, i think you want something more like clear edging strips if such a thing exists it probably exists at clark rubber

i know you can get internal hinges for your doors that stop it at certain points like a modern car door but yea
