I insured my last mini with Shannons and they were awesome. It was a bit pricey but i was 18 and yeah probably in a high risk area. When she got stolen though, Shannons payed out 10k without any troubles at all. Easy to get as well, all i had to do was take some photos and then email it to them and they said that $10,000 was no trouble at all.

I insured mine with Shannons today for 11k with salvage rights and one replacment glass panel a year, im 21, lost my licence for three months last year, not a club member, they didn't see the car and it doesn't have any extra locks or alarms and it only cost me $550. For the same price NRMA wouldn't come above $5500 agreed value. Thumbs up to Shannons.

Hey Pin4e, in regards to losing your licence. I rang up about my latest project and said that i had lost my licence within the last 3 years and they told me i wasn't allowed. Did you already have insurance when you lost your licence? I'd like to know cause i thought i'd have to put it under my dads name or something like that.

Shannons are great - no doubt about it, but Vigyl Classic also have very competitive prices, the car does have to be parked off street when at home (can still park anywhere when not at home offcourse) to qualify for the policy though.

Interesting, Shannons are usually pretty strict for people who have lost their licence before...

I am not sure i was even asked about my driving record. The quote was done on site at a car show. But touch wood - I have had a clean licence for nearly twenty years and a licence for 41 years.

Chris Z - whats the go there ?? -

im 19 insured with gio, for $700 p.a. full coprehensive under my mums name and listed as a driver. But my mini is classed as a utility because its a van, but if it wasnt it would have been $600 or maybe a bit less

ring around and if ur parents are willing it is cheaper to be listed as a driver, but u do not accumulate a no claim bonus...

all this money for the possiblity of something happening :?

I got my renewal for my insurance the other day and it has gone down :D
I have agreed value of 12k Modified ,windscreen replacment, salvage rights but i
am over 25 and told them i would do less then 8000kms a year and it
costs me a hefty $160 a year full comp not bad at all i thought .

Thanks Shannons!

I had Ha-Ha insured for 10 years with Vigil, never had a problem except every year they moved its value DOWN. :x
We know Minis are different, their value goes UP.
So I swapped it to Shannons. 8)
