Just a quick question, what is the difference between cam and valve lift?
I'm thinking cam lift is at the lifter and valve lift is at the valve?
Pete

Yes that is correct. The reason the valve lift is higher of the two is the rocker ratio- which is nominally 1.25:1 for standard factory ones.

Certainly not a factory 649 as they had part numbers stamped on them, or 648. This is a regrind as the 239 on the end is engraved. Why would the fuel pump lug have a helical gear instead? To drive what?

@Mick: motorbike is not fitted with a car kit (yet!), so won't be able to use the mobile

Pete

Lots of non- full race cams have high lift now- eg my GR prototype RE282 has about .315" cam lobe lift, and I measured .495" lift at the inlet valve with forged 1.5 rockers.
Big duration used to be the norm for full race cams, but one of Graham's new very torquey successful race ones (which KC races with, I believe) now has only 284* duration.

Ohhhh is that right.....did I tell you I rode bikes for over ten years :?:

Everyone...repeat..everyone on the Araluen run should give their mobile numbers to Renata at the start....so....for instance....when your bike is parked out the front of the Coffee Shop in Braidwood and you are sitting there with the Latte set...and Renata's provider has no signal...someone can (if needs be) get an urgent message to Renata...ya dig :?: :D

That gear was to drive a scavenge pump for dry sump lubrication. On Formula Junior racers etc, maybe race Sprites too.
