Hey man... dont start this competitive crap with Mutant... That car is one damn fine piece of machinery... just because you are going to do something different to your car, doesnt make it any better or any worse than any other Mini here...

:D

We are in this together to help each other out and BE NICE...

Do what you will, but dont start comparing Minis... I personally love Mutant...

I think the mutant is a great mini, and like i said i think she just let it down with the audio side of the car. The interior looks awesome and looks very $$$
Come on Jan can you give us a rough price on what the sick lil mutant beast has costed ya?

Appreciate what others have done and do what you want to do yourself... show us pics and let us all appreciate that too.... no need to start the $$ war or the bling bling war or the mine is faster than yours war...

much like many many other mini owners
i dont know the true amount of $$$ ive spent on my mini, with or without hypothetical labour costs included
we do it because we love it, not because we're building it to sell, or building it with an account book by our sides
so Gordo i reckon it'd be hard, if not impossible to give a price
the best i can say for me is from 7-8 thousand dollars,
i think the only way you can have a price for your own estimates:
find out what jan did to her's and get the prices that you can do it at

by the way, which street in warwick farm do you live in, i used to live there? im now in cabramatta, next door

I have not read page one of this post but my wife said somthing similar this afternoon.
Yer you would be interested inhow much Mutant cost.....but either that would be a bench mark or you would then turn around and say.....nar I would not have spent that much....

No I do not ask how old a lady (girl) is, yer I do my own Judgments but thats just us males.
Don't ask how much someone's car cost. But if you are asking how much they payed for thier Cooper S Disc's, Thats a differnt story then
yer I'm in one of those mood's at the moment No sigs over 70 Hour's now

Anybody that does work on a Mini or saves one has to be congratulated. So don't worry about mutant, she will more than welcome any Minis that come along. As someone posted, we do this out of love, not competitivness. I didn't build mutant to take out trophies. I wanted a Mini that would be comfortable and make me feel special when I drove it. She has everything I ever wanted and that's how it will always be. I didn't build my audio set up to win the best db or SQ. I like to feel the bass and to hear loud music. What I have now suits me. Who is to say which brands are better than others. Certainly not me. And it is not always the products that make a system, it has so much to do with the install. All I can say is that do YOUR Mini how YOU want it. Don't be swayed by others. Lots of people tried to talk me out of the paint I used but it was what I wanted. I didn't care what they thought. Same with the colours of my interior. Some people tried to talk me out of that as well. People can pick as much as they like and make comments but in the end it'#### Mini and this is how I wanted it. I have no one else to please but myself. I couldn't be happier with the end result. If someone had told me that I would spend that amount of money, no, I wouldn't have believed them. As far as how much? Well, I didn't count. But you stop and think how much leather interiors cost, custom built seats, Nico-Shined parts, Chroma Lusion paint, Chrome Mags, Imported low profile tyres, Momo steering wheels, etc. etc. and it's an awful lot of money. More than two MINI Coopers.

Just a small note to all Mini owners. Be proud of any improvements you make to your Mini, it's all for the better. Doesn't matter if someone doesn't agree with you, it's you that counts. If we followed each other with everything we did, all our Minis would look the same.

Go out there and work on your Mini and get it ready for the next big MINISHOW. Look at some of the UK mags. See all those Minis in the fields lined up to be judged or just on display. We want to equal some of those events. We can do it if you just come alone and join in the FUN of it all. That's how it should be.

Jan, I think the Interior of your car is one of the most impressive of all time, in quality and style(and I've been to Summernats). And Mutant is driven regularly. I've seen many show cars, that dont even have engine internals so that there is no chance of an oil leak.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, even if I dont like a car, i still respect the effort and struggle that has gone into it. Anybody that has built a car up that way, has every right to be proud.

I'm struggling to even start with my girl. Trying to get a stereo and dash in at all has me way out of my depth, My bro in law has been doing it for me in his spare time. As to considering a full rebuild..........Helene is my daily driver, gotta care for her as much as I can along the way.

Thanks phildoD. I hope your mods go according to plan and good luck.

If I ever get to spray a Mini again I could think of some great colours and designs to do. After seeing some of the cars at the shows that we have been to I have heaps of ideas. Just a little short on the necessities ....... like money!

Sorry if i started a 'mini' war here not my intention...
But i am still sitting here trying to think of a colour to paint... Even though the paint is atleast another 2 months away im lookin for some ideas, another colour poped into my head the other night a moroon with a gold pearl through it???
But when i do pick a colour to paint it, the interior will need to suit.
And as far as costs go i know that the lil minis can be expensive as i also have a
red 76 S and i have spent about 9 thou on that and i didnt even paint it and thats not including a system i put into it.
And Jan thanks for the advice it dosnt matter what other people think as long as i am happy with it thats all that matters. Your paint work looks sensational!! The interior also, the door pods are a exelent idea and look great i was thinking about makin some similar ones for mini, how roomy is it now? just lookin at mine it looks like the room factor might be an issue, but i will see.

Plenty of room with speakers pods. You just have to be careful when you get in the car.

As far as paint colour goes, I would be going to House Of Kolor reps and checking out their colours if I was to do it again. They used to actually paint you a sample of your choice. Even if it is a special colour with extra added to it.
Before I choose Chroma Lusion I was thinking of having Purple Passion (from memory) with the sparkle that I have now over the top. They made me up a sample of that.

I'd go the Volcano Orange. Then again what about the Amethyst Purple that Rover have.
