Honestly, I reckon you could do it for a $1k. Reading Simon's comments you sound handy so you should be able to make the pipe work yourself. Simply run it at low boost and go easy on the box. People have been force-feeding factory motors SAFELY for ever and a day.
If you want to significantly increase the output you might look at lowering compression and strengthening the box. If not, bolt the blower on, intercool (or water inject) it and treat it with respect and you should be ok.
