BMC painted an entire mini (Austin 850) in a Union Jack for the 1967 Montreal Worlds Trade Fair, that I would guess started that craze.

That's cool!..... Also BMC Australia contracted a guy to paint a space theme on a clubby. Was in TME in some issue, can't be bother to get them out of the bookcase and look, but yeavh quite interesting, 78 I believe??
