thanks dude. yeah i love 850's too. it is always good to hear that people love the original minis. it is also the challege of trying to get something so old to look so perfect that i really like. my aim is to restore this car without having to resort to using any reproduction parts, only original parts. so far i am winning! i will try to get some more picture soon. i am inn need of some interior vinyl, i have almost all of the cars vinyl except the seats. i will post a picture of the typr i am after. if any one can help me out, that would be unreal.

nah that photo was taken in a court out the back of our house. ours has a roller door that goes out into this court. i took the photo because i had just completed making that trolley that the shell sits on. it is bolted to the shell using subframe mounts. i needed something rigid to store the shell on until i can build a rotiessery for it.

what fabric are you after for your build? (im a trimmer aswell) might be able to source it for you

im after the red vinyl that came in the 63 morris 850. it is the same pattern as what cush has in astro but his is blue. it looks like a fine horizontal striped pattern in red and black. the further you are from it, the more it looks striped.

Marcello, hats off to you! :D

Happy to hear that another 850 is coming back to life in its original form. A standard 850 is a true beauty. They where never about speed and never should be made to be.
For those out there contemplating modifying a Mini, please stick to the relatively common variants, PLEASE!

Marcello, check out Issues 1 and 5 of "The Mini Expericence" magazine for some great info and pics of the 850 and Minor.

Anyways, mine was already hacked apart when I got it... Now a mini K they are very rare I've only passed up one of those...It needed too man ynew panels :(

I'm talking about 850's not "850's" if you know what I mean. Because of many factors including their age and their low entry point pricing etc. most have been molested beyond repair.

yeah has any one got any pictures of their cars. it would be great to see whats out there. i dont think i have yet seen a morris 850 that is restored exactly as it was when new. (execpt dorothy) there always seems to be little details that people leave out that could make the car that little bit more original.
