Although if you go too far (because it's not actually the problem) then it'll start to slip.

With the engine running and handbrake on in 1st, the car wanted to stall when i slowly released the clutch pedal...

Yeah but there is a point in a clutches engagment where it'll still have enough bite to stall you, but may slip under power. Depends a little on engine power too - some engines couldn't slip a clutch if it was drenched in oil ;)

No not at all. I was just making a general observation on what to much 'stop' will do, not relating to any specific vehicle. How much is too much will always vary from car to car due to differing wear levels.

i had the same problem in my van i just adjusted the clutch until it stopped slipping
