Hi all,

Yep - all great advice and I am glad to read that as long as you do things carefully, methodically and organised it may not be that bad (famous last words huh).

I bet you certainly appreciate your mini much much more if you have handled every single part of the car as well.

Looks like I am feeling confident in giving it a go and I do have a spare garage to take over! Won't be now but soon.

Yes be orginized...Zip lock bags are excellent...Engine bolts from the Gear box to Block in one bag and so on..and just use a highlighter on the bag with a bit of WD40 after cleaning and you want lose anything

We all use our own Methods :wink:

ok I can lead wipe thats easy but how do you get the lead to stic to the metal without tinning it first? Might have to goofle this one I think

It may be easier/quicker to por15 the floors, sills and gutters if thats the way you want to go (por15 is a rust proof paint - do a search for it on here and there's a bit of info)

Have to admit I don't particularly like the idea of playing around with lead vapours and will go the rust proof paint method.
