Every Mini has water stains on the headlining, i that is what you mean!

Using premium unleaded isn't a problem if it has not been driven much. If it is an elderly owner it may have only done a few thousand miles on unleaded, and has probably not been thrashed. No big deal.

If the head does have problems, I'd still consider byuying the car if there are no other major problems. A head reco is pretty cheap anyway. I figure $500-600 including labour to remove and refit. 8)

What you want to find out is who serviced it, does he have any receipts to back ythis up. How long did he own it? Also who has driven it (ie: did he teach his 16 year old son to drve in it!)

does this man have a european accent? and is his name Steve or James?
coz i called up a while ago about a matic, and is was in penshurst or somewhere like that

i got mine $4250, and its had a flow coat (lick of paint over the top)
i had to sand back the whole floor inside
and had 30,700 miles. sounds genuine, logbooks say genuine too.very original as well
in total with necessary electrics (parents) its gone up to about $5000.
if you want to compare, then $5000 is an ok price, but maybe too much
(maybe probs with unleaded fuel)

but its up to you. you wont feel the $750 difference once you get it.
if i got mine for $6000, i would definitely not feel the $1750 difference right now (hope you understand what im saying)

i would definitely recommend someone professional to have a look at it, better if theyre a mini person.
(Andrew at MiniandMokeworld, brookvale does inspections for $99)
anyone have any comments about Andrew? i dont know him personally,
his sister sally recommended me take it to him before i bought mine

Makka's right though, all minis were at one stage built equal, some minis just have more rust than others

hehe :) dodgy paint

from that phot, the paint is great. it is there. my first mini was a patchwork of flaky paint, red oxide primer, and oil.

if its registered, runs ok, and has the original upholstery then the price is not too bad. i paid $2500 this year for a 64 850 that Duc looked at 6 months earlier when the price was $7000.

if he is a nice old guy, then he is probably more concerned it goes to a good home than what he gets for it.

good luck pigeon
