Good luck buddy. Bare in mind we spend 4 years in the trade learning it and mastering it before we become a tradey.... Dont expect to be an expert when flicking through a book for half an hour..

Keep us poted.

Young Miniac, you can get that colour in acrylic. Just got to know the paint code. Or get it matched. But if you have money to spend and want a good finsh quick and easy go 2pack, depends what you want, do you want a great car or a great project? With practice and hours and hours and hours you can have both. But not easy, my car cost around 500 to paint including primer and stuff, and the four different colours on my car! Oh yeah and the clear coat which I found to be pretty rubbish for looks, but gives a good thick surface to cut back.

amongst other things... @pac dries rck hard acrlyic is always soft.. When it heats up in the sn it moves (expands) and 2pac dont. So if you have a stiff paint over a flexible paint it will crack and peal eventually... Just a bad idea

if your going 2pac use 2pac primer, if your going acrylic use acrylic primer. also make sure you use etch primer, the normal stuff is useless compared to it.

if your going to do it yourself dont use a metallic or pearl colour.. they are so much harder to lay down so youl be happier with a nice solid colour

I was warned about metallic being hard to do, so I didn't and I thought a mini being a 60s car doesn't really suit metallic but that's all personal opinion. If you don't paint metallic well doesn't it give lines and weird spots where all the metal bits go to?
