Well guys, I went and checked out this car. I'm looking at some $$ for rust and panels before I can paint my shell so I thought I'd check out this car to see if it would be a simple paint and assemble prospect.

What Ina's got is a matching numbers Deluxe (yep engine is the original) with just about all parts neatly stowed on shelves on labeled in take-away containers. The body itself has a couple of areas needing attention but far less than my shell. There is zero rust in the seams, roof, boot, floor. Just a couple of areas of rust like the leading end of the driver's side sill, typically in flat areas or out of sight, so repairs would be straight forward. I couldn't belive it but the parcel shelf has never been cut for speakers. There is a good coat of paint in the original colour.

There is the full cream interior with just one or two tears, amazing for its age.

The complete Hydro subframes are there so the car could be back on its wheels in next to no time. The dry frames are fresh from the powder-coaters and are bare. You'd need to get the bits to build them up.

This is a car that would make a great start to a period restoration, with all the original gear it comes with. It isn't quite an assemble-and-register prospect, so I'm out of the running for the shell.

The owner's preference is to sell all bits together but if you buy the lot and don't want the interior or wheels and don't want to keep the original engine/box with the shell (shame on you!) then I'll talk turkey about those bits.

So whos new years resolution is to build themselves a great Deluxe or engine conversion?? Off you go to see this car...

M
