If only I had a scanner...

I bought a magazine off ebay a couple months ago... one of those really old 60's wheels mags or whatever. On the cover is a red mini, its down at the local boat ramp and it has a tinny on the roof.... with the outboard still attached. LOL How the hell would you lift a tinny onto the roof of a mini even without the motor.

I wonder if they were planning on just driving the car under water to launch the boat?

A very popular roof rack for Minis had four suction caps supporting a tubular frame with side "gates". The whole thing was tied down by a single gutter grip on each side in the rack and about the centre of the car.

Somebody must have a picture somewheres.

My 850 had one at some stage, how do I know?

Four round patches of not-so-faded paint, each about 4" or 10cm in diameter at each corner of the roof!
