when you try to jiggle the key is it rock solid or does the barrell move a little , ive seen plenty of barrels swell up over time and become solid

also if you havent already give the barrell a good wash of wd40 or inox

cheers Paul

it all moves OK.
it's an old handle anyway, if I stuff it no matter.
but if i can get apart I might get it replated.

If you can turn the barrell with a key and you have removed the barrel retaining pin, there is no reason for the barrel not to come out. When you turn the barrel, does it actually lock the handle by moving the locking plunger across? If not, therein lies your problem. If the plunger doesn't move, then the little pin on the back of the barrel has broken off and is most likely stuck in the groove of the barrel and thus stopping it from coming out.

The problem is I can't turn the barrel- I don't have the right key, and jiggling my others just doesn't work.
It moves a fraction though so barrel isn't seized.

Got to work tomorrow, I'll mill its guts out on Sat.
