Hey Tim,
Wanna buy Junior? LOL. I have spent the last two weeks fixing my car with the whole engine change and boy am I sick of it now. To cap it all off the starter motor died this morning so AGAIN off comes the grille... I need motivation, and I just want to get into my car and go for a good drive, hassle free.... damn car has tested me these last couple of weeks. I think i just need to put it up on wheel chocks, and just get into it. Paint job and all, but that requires a lot of motivation, or johnny walker equivalent...

why do you need to drop the motor out of the clubby in? I just put a new 998 Cooper head on it and it runs fine.... NOW.
How much you wanna pay? Lynda might outbid you :P
And yes... there is a lot more room in the clubby engine bay. 30 minutes and I had the motor out of it.

Oh I thought the 998 was just a temporary thing.

I gave the Cooper to Damien and I'm buying the 998LS.

aaahh... the cooper needs more than a paint job, but its a good project all the same.
Couldn't knock it back for a grand with an 1100S car.
You want the Cooper S? It aint something I am interested in.
The engine in my car is temp yes, but not the head. It moves onto the other engine depending on how I decide to go about the car as it is.

I just need all these bargains to stop so I can actually spend money on the house!

MOTIVATION UPDATE

I decided on Saturday that I'd re-aquaint myself with my mini by cleaning it. I pulled out the front seats and vaccumed everywhere. While I had the seats out I decided to give them a scrub with hot soapy water and a nail brush and they came up so well I did the rest ot the interior but I couldn't remove the yellowy-nicotine-looking stains on the hood lining. Apart from that it looks brand new! :D

Feeling much better about my mini I began to write a 'TO DO' list and here it is:

THE EASY BITS...
Wiper rubbers
Indicator flasher can
Boot lid seal

THE NOT SO EASY BITS...
Clunk in right rear suspension
Movement in left rear wheel bearing (I did replace it but maybe with the wrong one?)
Clutch is still not perfect
Still chugging a bit under load (Could be carby, fuel pump or dizzy?)

So that's where I'm at, not too bad really.
Any help regarding my not-so-easy bits would be greatly appreciated.

Tim :)

Tim,
when i drop off that muffler for you I also have a new flasher can if you want it. You can also have the boot rubber out of the clubby.
I'd like to see what it is doing regarding the chugging under load so I'll see if I can get down your way this weekend if you like? I am not on call for RACV so would be a good opportunity.

Damien,

That would be great but don't worry about the muffler as I've got one now.
As for the chugging I'm thinking carby, fuel pump or dizzy. If you've got spares of any of these that we could try bring 'em over when you come.

Thanks
