It is a 1984 Austin Montego 1.3l.

They were built from 1984 to 1994 in different versions with engine sizes from the 1275 to a 2 litre diesel. The early cars used a VW Golf gearbox and later cars used a Peugeot box.
Mine is a very early poverty pack. Picture a car the size of a Camira with a 1275! It is very roomy inside, the back seat legroom would be bigger than a Statesman!
They were sold in NZ with the bigger motors (1.6 or 1.8 I think)
Mine came from England as a private import.

They have recently gone back into production in China.

ok the million dollar question! is the gearbox a 5 speed, and would it fit in a mini??
