I took mine off when i painted it, and liked it better off so left it that way. I have also been pulled over by the poliec for a breath test and the officer asked me,
"were you in a bit of a bingle"
to which i told confused "umm no"
"coz your bumper is missing"
"ohhhh i took that off to paint it"
"Fair enough, now blow into here until i tell you to stop"
and after blowing a clear reading he sent me on my way
Not sure if thats a green light to leave it off but i am anyways
