now im lost, whats the A/R,

j beez, im making the kit so it comes round the side of the engine, near where the starter solinoid sits(idea taken from "the man"), im going to make 1300 out of the exhaust easy,

which brings me to a another point, to save space if i use one of those exspantion chambers that they stick on 2 stroke exhaust systems i would nt need to run a bunch of pipes that looks like a bowl of spaghetti, i would just need that chamber and the appropriate length of pipe,

aaahhhh, ok, easy then! i was thinking down the back that would be a nightmare, i have a mate doing the same thing. :D

as for the expansion pipe...you mean to run from engine to turbo insted of 3 pipes?
or after the turbs as an exhaust?

it all depends on what you want bigger turbo less lag more up top but if a turbo is too big it wont be efficient, same for too small will come on boost early but will be pushed into surge which is not efficent nor good for the turbo.

thurbo A/R ratio is the cross sectional area of the scroll divided by the radius of the housing.

personally i think t28 is too big for even big bore , a small t25 with a 48ar. exhaust should be ok.

have a look at efficiency maps , also good read on how to read them here:

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobyga ... ch101.html

on my 1100 turbo i was using a T2 off a nissan pulsar/exa N12 turbo it has a 48ar. exhaust housing but was a tad laggy and is basiclly the same size as the 48ar. t25 although dump pipe flanges are different i believe.

for my new turbo i will be using a Garrett Gt15 which is absically the same but has the smaller 35ar. exhaust housing , alos for my engine im smack bang in the highest efficency spot :)

hope this helps

im running 3 into 1 and into the turbo, the 2nd pipe on the exstractors is the biggest, thats the one that i will use for the exspantion chamber,

ben, are you running an intercooler, air into air, and what if any wastegate are you using

A T25 from a CA18 is a good size for a 1300cc engine .49comp housing .48 exhaust
If you have long pipes to your turbo and a expansion chamber the gas flow will slow exhaust gases will cool and the turbo will be "laggy" may make good top end power but no power where it is really needed. when you add boost to an engine the N/A flow characteristics go out the window.
Just my 2cents

so i should go with the short primaries, the only reason to why i was going longer and spaced out primaries is so i still have that tourque down low by using N/A characteristics,

all righty so i make the primaries short but evenly spaced, i wont the turbo on the side of the motor, reasons

1. its easier to remove, dont need to remove the head to get the turbo on or off,
2. i can build a heat shield around the turbo,
3. its an easy spot so i can stick a webber on the front of the turbo and for what its worth, will probally look better,
