I have a red light mounted on the right side of my dash that only came on once when the "switch" on the brake peddle had fallen apart... which meant no brake lights :D

mind you it does say "brake" on it...

I have a cable which sits under my carpet rinning to where my gear stick is. My car use to be an auto so maybe it has something to do with that.

my guess going by the crap box jap jeep imports we get at work i'm gonna guess that it is a warning light for the catalytic convertor?
the jap jeeps have a buzzer the comes on when the cat convertor dies so that with their tuff emissions laws you don't go driving around with a dead cat.
that is my guess. hope it helps

cheers steve

MiniMaticshifter has a neutral safety switch connected into the red/white wire from ign switch to starter solenoid. No neutral, no startie..
