here are your 12"x5" with A539's ... they handle, brake and corner very well. 10x better than the factory fitted 12x4.5", not much different in size but 10x in performance across the range as said.

The ride quality doesn't depreciate IMO. You still have a decent sidewall.

The rolling diameter slightly increases. With a 3.44 diff, you go from 3750rpm@100km/h with 10" to 3600rpm@100km/h with 12" (from what people say).

Do you need flares for 12x5s?

With Performance Superlites... yes. I've seen people not use flairs, but unsure on the legality of doing so.

Edit/ This Mini has Superlites and no flairs. It's marginal... and i'm unsure if it runs spacer drums or not.

Maybe 12x4.5 would be better. Want to keep it looking fairly standard at the moment.

That red clubman looks awesome! 8)

The rims that Tempe Tyres sell have a different offset and do fit without flairs.

Do plastic flares look alright or do they end up warping and looking crap?

I'm led to believe you're allowed .5" width difference from factory fitted width without having to get flares. I'm interested to find out if this is true or not as I have heard mixed thoughts on this topic.

If running a disc-front, can 10s be easily swapped for 12s?

yes 10'' wheels can be swapped easily for 12's. If you're running a 1275 then discs will have to be used so at least you already have them.

They stick out a fair bit, would not have passed rego with them on, swapped them over for the inspection..

It's running 8.4's on the front so same as spacered drums i believe..
