Those tyres will also throw your speedo out too with an 80 profile. It will read slow. So the problem is twofold, the stepped drums (easy to find) and the bigger sidewalled tyres.

no no, easy to fix. Get the tyre guys to swap tyres out with the right size, and while you're at it find some stepped Clubman S drums. Apart from costs involved in removing and swapping the tyres you should get the drums pretty cheaply. If you get ten inch alloy mags, you will often find that they will nearly always need the stepped drums as well, so it's money well spent.

No your not in a mess with these mags but some inexperience with minis shows.
The drums arn't hard to change if you know what your doing but as its brakes DON'T do it yourself unless you know what you are doing. The possible results dont bear thing about.

Take is step by step and no rash or impulsive actions. The tall skinny tyres were a rash decision and if they havn't been on the road the tyre people may change them for you ONCE you have the right brake drums on.

Going to 10 inch mag wheels is also fraught with the same problems. If they are also the wrong offset then they also will foul.

Just confirm that the rubbing is on the inside of the wheel arch please ?????? Against the traling arm suspension arm and that it is on both sides not just one - the trailing arms can become bent.

They can do it for you if you give them the tyre brand and size, they're just not that bright by the sounds of it to be able to work it out on their own. Have a search around and see what people are using.

The 155/80-12 are the right size tyre for a Morris 1100 but wrong for a Mini. They are too big in diameter.

Type 165/70-12 into google and see how many different tyres there are in that size. Then tell the idiots at the tyre place (you can't call it a tyre service if they don't provide any service) that you want 165/70-12 to fit a Mini and not 155/80-12 that fit an 1100.

Geeez 155/80.....???? How lame is that......!!!!!! That tyre shop must of really tried hard to find tyres to suit????? Tossers!

Falken make a 165/60R12 to suit. That tire is way to large..

Absolutely, they have sold you the wrong sized tyres. Sounds like a bunch of morons to me. :(

I'd take them back and insist they get the correct size or refund your money. If they refuse, threaten them with consumer affairs, as these tyres are clearly unfit for the purpose (a Mini).

Cheers,
