It was the dry season, rainfall (or lack there of) is very predictable.

In 1982, Leyland Australia required the Moke factory for Peugeot assembly and production was shifted to Portugal. Portugese Mokes featured an integrated roll cage and hood which vastly improved on the 'flapping tent' fitted to Australian cars.
