Try hitting a Brumby! I also hear that wombats can cause as much grief as roos. Apparantly they can get up and go and it is like hitting a boulder.

Some of the people here dont have the kangaroo just hoping away. A seven foot 100 plus kilo hit at 100 kmh tends to stop the car and the roo.

We have had a couple of fatalities directly attributed to roo strikes. A few that have swerved to miss the roo and hit a tree. One particularly heart wrenching one where a car swerved to miss a roo and hit a family saloon head on killing the mother and father in the front seat, a child in the rear and injured two other kids in the back.

Another fatality happened when an oncoming car hit a smaller roo and sent it flying into the windscreen of another car travelling in the opposite direction. It caused extensive head injuries to that woman who died in hospital.

Hitting a roo is a serious business that stops cars dead.

 I always take extra care when travelling at dusk and dawn because I have seen what Skippy can do - but its very different when its people in your community
