What a great trip

I had an absolute ball and it went off without a hitch.
Friday morning, I caught a flight out of Adelaide heading for Sydney. I arrived in sydney at 11:15. Steve met me at the airport and then we headed back to their place in Bexely. Then we were off the beach, Maroubah (i think) and after a quick lunch we were back in the car and back at the beach but this time with Mikey aswell. The surf was pretty big which made for lots of entertainment. After a nice dinner and a few beers the day was over.
Saturday after having a drive in Steve's new baby (MGA- what a magnificant car) and doing a few other things it was 12:30 and time for me to leave

We got onto the M5 and cruised down there for a few mile together until Steve and Mikey waved. I was on my own after the waves and beeping.
After Steve and Mikey took their turn off, it was full speed ahead to Goulburn. It rained the whole way there. And it was looking pretty stormy. Soon enough all that had past and I was making good time up until Yass. I was hoping to be in Hay in time for dinner but the "detour" added an hour or so to my trip.
So being starving and rolling into Hay to find nothing was open and the all lights were off everywhere I was lucky to see a person just locking up the Cobb Inlander office. So I got a bed for the night but still no dinner.
On Sunday, I left Hay later than expected because I set my alarm to pm not am

But the extra hour and half of sleep did me well.
So it was time to fill up on fuel and then we were on the road again.
Queenie and I cruised through Balranald, Euston and stopped in the next town then we off to Mildura for lunch (or dinner what ever way you want to look at it). Queenie did try her hand at some 4WD as well. (Pics to come)
Driving into to Waikerie, the main road through the town was under going maintence. It was 4 lanes wide and cut down to 2 with excavated shoulders. There were heaps of cops around which seemed abit unusual and an ambulance. A magna driven by elderly lady was on its side in the road works. Obviously misjudged the upcoming corner and ended up going off the 3-4 foot drop. The car had seen better days.
Then I cruised into Angaston to meet Jim. Then headed onto home after passing through 4 states in 2 days
Queenie is such a great car and performed exceedingly well. I didnt take her much over 65mph but overtaking caravans and other slower vehicles was done with ease.
Today, I going to do an oil change and clean her up. She got a bit dirty during the trip. So it is off to the shop now to get some supplies!
Hopefully pics will be up tonight or tomorrow night.
Cheers
Matt
