yeah they pulled the pin on CAMS & walked away from the motorkhanas, not sure if it was just a lack of intrest or some other political problem, maybe both, but still, it all stopped either way.

We did get them doing motokhanas & even some autocross meetings, tried to get them involved with hillclimbs & events such as Speed on tweed etc but it all seemed to peter out to nothing... no offence to Peter of course :-)

good to see some young blood get involved, (Ala Greg & Shane & co) i`ll be back in the game as soon as all my cars are ready, so expect to see me involved in about another 10 years, nah just kidding, :-) probably by early next year i`ll have 3 of the new cars up & racing :-)

JC, where do you live?, i could come get you 4 the meetings if you`re keen??? Bell me.

some changes to the policy regarding signing off on cars for special rego might be great as well. sure, getting people to be involved in the club so they don't just use it for a rego saving is a good idea, but the restrictions placed on that atm are really very silly. have to be a member for 12 months *and* attend so many meetings/events during the year? extremely inflexible.

btw - i like that you guys are coming to the community and being open and genuine with wanting to foster goodwill. might convince me to finally join up.

I'm just in Norman Park Matt. I was just using Shane not coming to get me as an excuse. I'll be along for the next one.

Actually no, those rules are there for good reason. MCCNSW has the same rules. What good is it to have a car on club plates thru a club if the person with the car never turns up to anything in the car? To me this is glaringly obvious as to why they want the rego

Cheers

obviously we have "glaringly obvious" thoughts on the matter. my Mini has only just reached the age where it can be considered for special rego, and not already being a member of a car club, how is making me wait for another 12 months going to encourage me to join this club? i could just as easily go join a club that would be happy to welcome me and my car in to their fold, and thus i would then feel more encouraged to get involved in the club itself. putting barriers up for new people is not very welcoming in my opinion.

also, and i don't mean to be rude here, but the guys asked for our thoughts on what we'd like to see from our local club, and i responded with what i'd like to see. you're welcome to your opinions given how they do things in NSW, but there's no need to rubbish on the suggestions.

Does it really matter why someone joins a club. I for one dont mind if someone joins just to get cheap rego. If being a member and receiving a magazine inspires them to be involved all the better, at the end of the day a club is what you choose to make of it. As for the changes many of them have already been put into practice. I will put it to the committee to see if a date outside of Hay weekend can be organised for next year. A push for some speed events is underway, and for those who previously felt victimised for having non A series engines, I would love for one of you to volunteer your car to bring to a meeting to talk about what you have done, how you did it etc. I for one would appreciate learning how it was done. At the next meeting at Newstead I will be bringing the supercharged show car designed for flogging on a race track if anyone wants to to come along for a look.

Im not rubbishing your suggestion mate, but I have seen what happens when rules aren't there. It ends up reflecting badly on the club in the end where the individual gets away with it. As you said this is my opinion and you obviously disagree. It seems though that MOST clubs weather it be mini or otherwise have these same rules in place, so there has to be a reason deosn't there

Cheers

Does it need to get there under its own power?

John, lets hook up for the meeting next week then yeah? maybe go down there in the one mini??? or we could do the Italian Job thing & carry on racing eachother there & back in 4 different minis :-) Nah , that could reflect badly on the club, you shouldn`t have suggested that John, you`re a bad boy & need a good spanking :-)

Hey Greg what time is the BWM meetup?

My brick is on the road but needs lots of little fixes to get it to the stage where i'd be happy to drive it up the motorway. So I might have to bike it or train it up.
