I am quite likely to bid on this for spares, if anyone else is interested in it it would be good if you PM'd me, if you're more interested than me I'll keep out of your way.

I got a message from him lol

My apologies. Appears my ignorance was taken advantage of when i purchased this project. Ebay has been notified. As i have been notified by 14 other enthusiasts, austen mini cooper S did not have a square nose as this is a leyland mini clubman. Cooper S production finished in 71, and no, drum brakes all round

Well he did the right thing, fessed up and changed the listing. He may have been genuinely ignorant rather than deceptive. What he does to the car he owns is his business while he owns it and its alway buyer beware.

If anyone is genuinely interested in buying it, ask to see a photo of the engine and we can quickly tell if its 1275 or not.

My mini has a 1100s based block with a HIF44 carby. For ease of explanation I tell people that it has a Cooper S type motor. At a recent local car show thing, there was my mini along side another mini. The other mini had twin carbies but was only a 998. I had an "expert" come up and tell me mini was not a cooper S motor because it didn't have twin carbies. He then told me the 998 was a cooper S engine because it had twin carbies. Such misinformation abounds and this guy may be just the same.
