All hydro Clubman's were called Morris Clubman.
Leyland didn't take over the name until late 73

I don't think there is any suggestion of a roundnose, just a morris ID plate?
he said he bought a yellow clubbie.
I think the "using up old ID plates" is more feasible.

If the maker is BMC... shouldn't road transport change all the rego details
The factory was called BMC.
The workers worked for BMC.
The workers built Morris, Austin and Wolseley cars at the time the Morris 850 was being built.
Morris was a brand name.

If you bought a Toyota Lexcen what would the rego papers say? Holden or Toyota? 8)

So the Clubman GT is a Morris Clubman GT? I don't think so. 8)

The Clubman range in Australia did not carry the Morris name.
They were badged..
Mini Clubman (YG2S7) (YDO22)
Mini 1100 (YG2S6) (YDO21) (rare cheap rubber suspension Clubman)
Clubman GT. (YG2S8) (YDO23)
They also carried a small Leyland badge near the door hinges.

I have never seen any official paperwork refer to these cars as Morris.

The advertising slogan was...
The all New Mini Clubman. doesn't say morris or leyland

I've got a few rego papers that all say 1971 or 1972 Morris Sedan,
now i'll have to go find them

1973 Saw it become the Leyland Mini... uprated gearbox, rubber cone etc

They were not Morris or Leyland, they were Mini.
Just because some public servant sticks the wrong name on the rego papers does not change what the manufacturer called the cars. Leyland called them Mini.

In 1973 Leyland decided to call all their Australian built cars Leyland to match the release of the Leyland P76. So the Mini Clubman became the Leyland Mini and the Morris Marina became the Leyland Marina.
