Nah. ADRs didn't happen till a long time later.

They made flares for racing, then they fitted them in SA, then they fitted them to the Mk2.
I wonder if the SA thing was to make them legal to race?

No, the SA Fuzz got stroppy and insisted flares be fitted to Mk1s in that state, to make them `legal'. :wink:

I'm not sure if I missed this earlier in the thread (just drove in from Canberra to get a shell off of Mick and I'm stuffed), but there were original S rims in the UK sold with the initial Cooper 970, 1071 etc which were only 3.5 inches.

Yeah , the 3 1/2's are very rare but there are a few about down here . On that note there was a set of 4 stolen from the far north coast a month or so ago so if anyone miraculously turns up with them I'd like to know about it totell the owner .
