I cant - but I know people who were relocated from there. Apparently you can see the chimney from the old pub at present from a fishing boat.

I have only been here 10 years. The local "born and breds" talk about about the weekend it was opened. The opening ceromony guest said it was going to take three years to fill and the very next weekend there was 17 inches of rain and it was full in a week.

I remember the pub (The Cudgegong Hotel). I was only a kid but my dad used to stop there on his way back from Mudgee. He had a truck and in those times the trucks used to have to stop and cool the tyres at every available location. On the way out it was the Capertee pub and on the way back it was the Cudgegong Hotel.
I had to wait on the verandah as I was only young.
The publican had a talking magpie!

The dam took a long time to build, it was stop start for a long time but once it was finished it filled up very quickly. They were supposed to remove a lot of buildings but it filled up before they got a chance.

Mudgee has always had a public school, a high school as well as the catholic school. When Cudgegong school was closed it was relocated to Mudgee as a third primary school.

Its known as the Cudgegong Valley primary school and they have become a centre of excellence for Opportunity and challange education.

I did Glenfield to Home (16 clicks east of Gulgong) in four hours and that included two ebay pickups, a talk with a kangaroo along with the other two cars that also talked to it. I hear the old timers saying a trip to Sydney not that long ago (maybe 25 years ago) was an all day event. Cherry Tree Hill was dirt and it only had to be wet and getting over it was a challenge.
