I was looking at purchasing a car and keeping it at my mother's place in Shellharbour on NSW rego. The NSW RTA told me that I had to prove I lived there at least part of the time via a utility bill or similar in my name. :evil:


It only needed something with the correct surname, it didn't have to be your account. It is done often.

I must have got one who didn't know the rules. She said the only way I could do it was to register it in my Mum's name. Which meant I woud have had to transfer it into my name again when I eventually brought it to Vic, thus paying the transfer fee twice. I decided it was all too hard.
