I have had experience with lots of aging cars. I have always found that new silvering of the lens is the best and easiest solution.

Relays by all means, but be carefull of upping the Wattage of the bulb just to try and get more light. I have found that doing that will inevitably fry the wiring and switch gear, relay or not.

get some H4's from a mini place or even a car place, they replace the whole headlight assembly, shouldnt be more than $100 for a pair i think.
then we can help you fit them, though its pretty easy you could do it yourself.

what pub do you work at?

eBay, $79.95, Buy it Now as I recall, saw it today.

They are 'semi-domed' not the same brand as mine, mine are 'Wipac' but I think mine are semi-domed aswell and it looks great.

i work at the strathmore hotel, opposite the casino, you might see LJE out the fron some days.

Ok so this is the plan, i buy these lights, from ebay, (slinkey will provide me with the link  ), then i read the instructions then i decide whether i can do it or not, that sounds like the natural progression of things,

That's the one, but I was wrong, it's $79.90, 5 cents cheaper! :)

You probably don't need them, but I think it's a good upgrade for a Mini.

If you are going to be doing some night driving, H4's are a must IMHO. The candle lights (sealed beam) at the front will never be as effective as a decent set of new H4s.

That's a good price i'd say anytime i've ever seen a halogen kit it's usually been around the $100 mark.

so the lights came, i opened the box and cut my thumb on the broken glass of one. so i emailed the company i bought them from to ask him if i need to claim through aus post or them and he said it's auspost's fault but they'll never admit it, so he doesn't mind sending a replacement.

Sweet hey? goes someway to helping me to believe in the kindness of my fellow man.
