How's your supply of 1275 slot drive pumps, last week I had to get one from Melbourne...

When rebuilding my (pin drive) 1275's in the 70's I used to buy a standard mini pump and press the shaft out, press the 1275 shaft from the old pump in an away we go. The standard mini pump was identical except for the length of the shaft. Do you guys still do this?

Pete

Yep I know what you mean, we all did that back then.
For the last 5? years (until recently) the only commonly available pin drive pump for a Cooper S was the Minispares Sureflo one. The rotor is not keyed on like the shafts of the old `Concentric' pumps, it appears to be swaged or something.
Unhappily all S pin drive pumps are NLA right now, hence the adaption & use of star drive (splined) or slot drive pumps.

Let's face it, since around 1980 in UK all A series (now A+) motors have had a slot drive pump, out here in the Antipodes we are living in a time warp.
