No. Not on real hot days anyhow. Adding water volume & fin area is more beneficial than adding fans.. I'd do that first!

I'd still have the normal fan there just for backup, ya never know what could happen (and being a Mini, it probably will!).

Shoulda seen the effort I went to with the Moke's thermo housing! Same sorta dealio with you too, Mike, no thermostat! I can't remember if I left the studs in though, I think I took them out when I got the housing off, and probably put some gal bolts in instead, but I can't be bothered going to look at the car right now. :P

Just a quick question? Why do people leave the thermostats out, what difference does this make?

In my Moke I discovered that the thermostat was missing. The Moke ran cool all of the time, sometimes to cool I'd have to leave the choke on for a long time to warm her up too. I was told that I HAD to fit a thermostat so I did. Damn thing now gets too hot.
I'm going back to the way I always ran my Minis with just the outer ring of a thermostat in place.

Thermostat is a good Idea but I like the 74C ones. 82C is OK. 88C Pommy ones are too hot.. :x
