This sounds very easy. You said that the fuse only blows when the Comp... is bolted to the body. Therefor the two wires on the compressor are in reverse.
Change them around and you should be in Business. I Hope... Advise from an old Sparky that happens to be unique because he knows and loves his Minis... Need more advise just ask.
