What about ranking the list by $ or quality? Or categorise them by the 'colour'?

Full new set less than 1,000 mls.
Car gets driven every other day.
They are fine for me either wet or dry. :o
I dont drive in a hurry - the car wont go that fast anyway.

I got these tyres because I needed something for blue slip, and Powerstar had to be ordered (sod that for a joke).
Im happy with as close to original issue as I could get, thinner tread makes tight steering and parking in the city a snap. 8)
my 2cents.

That's a good idea - but at this stage I can't see $ happening unless I can fill out that column. Colour is a good idea but that'll end up happening with time (I was only gonna put the manufacturers in alphabetical order :) Geez Een, that why you get paid the big bucks to Mod eh? :P .

Seriously though, thanks for your input.

Small stylistic point, but with the darker background colours (i.e. your chosen blue) I'd make the text white, so it can be read sans squint...

Thanks simon, is there any other colours that need that as well? (I can read them easily and they come up quite clearly on my monitor - so best to tell me now which ones need changing)

i'd up the bridgestone grip ratings a bit...

they're what i drove on regularly and i only ever lost grip when i deserved to....

once .. while sending a text around a corner..

the second time was too quick, downhill, off-camber corner and too much weight on the pedal...

they've served me well..

i dont think we should call any tyres nasty,

tyres with low grip may have other attributes such as wear, comfort, price

yokohama 539's in 12" good in the dry and wet i paid $140 per tyre,
i think the best road tyre for a mini.

bridgestone sf226 10"
average in the dry and wet, never had any problems with this tyre, good price and predictable performance.

kumho powerstar 145 10"
poor to average in the dry and poor to average in the wet.
i rate these below the bridgestones, but they were still a ok tyre.
on a stock base model mini there were no problems as a daily driver.

falken 165 10 and 12"
poor grip in the dry and wet, they tend to lose traction suddenly.

falken 145 12"
no problems in the dry or wet even through wet adelaide hills. i rate these as average for both.

Pirelli P5000 Drago 175/50 R13
good in the dry, average in the wet, medium wear and high price.

Nah, the others are ok here. The green would be clearer, but for the JPEG compression artifacts.. that's what makes the blue so difficult to see.

I would post up my HTML that I'm writing it in but can't work out how to turn HTML on so that I can post it (it would look heaps better).

This is it now with the input from everyone's posts:

I reckon the ratings for Kumho powerstars are about right - I would probably say average in the dry and poor/average in the wet. I haven't had any problems with them and have only lost grip during hard cornering (when I expected to lose grip). My car is only a 998 though, and I don't have any experience with any other tyre to compare it to.

Bought some a couple of years back for about $75/tyre (in the country)

Dunlop SP Sport R7 165/70R10 $125 (+$10 o/nite shipping to Cbr) from Stuckey Tyes ( 8 now left in stock ). GarysMotorSport - Nil stock - same price.

Just bought a set for the Historic rally car project - so once up and going (dont hold your breath  ) should be able to do "back to back" tests on with A032R and A008....

I find it interesting about Falken vs A008 in the Wet.... my experience (10+ years ago) was that semi worn Falkens far out gripped semi worn A008.... things may have changed in the interim....

In fact we used Falkens on the round Australia trip (26 day ,16,00km Charity Rally) .... all weather - all roads.... and other than a bit skatey on the WA Ball bearings they were a good road tyre.
1 flat only when we ripped the side wall out on rocks on a "road" that used to be a railway track !

In the dry - yep agree A008 far superior...

I would rate 165 12" Falken Average in Dry but Poor in the Wet.

Sime Astar Primo 13" is a good tire for the money - certainly not nasty. Average-Good in both dry and wet

Bridgestone SF226 I find these average in dry - better in wet than expected. I think they are one of the better budget tires in the wet that i've used.

The Bridgestones (and the Falken 165/70-10s) seem lots worse in the wet when they get old and hard. Even if they have heaps of tread depth.
