Well, Ausmini's kinda like a club anyway -- I'd be more likely to buy a car from an Ausmini member putting their car up for sale here than some anonymous Joe in the Trading Post.

While I can see some merit in your criticisms, I have to point out that anyone doing the updates to the website car sales is going to spend a fair percentage of their life doing so. I know this because I used to do it, and edit the magazine at the same time and it was eating into the small amount of time I have to enjoy life. To add some kind of forum for car sales would be even more time consuming. Just ask Poeee how much time he spends voluntarily administering this site.

My next statement may be unpopular, but it's from the heart. (And not aimed at anyone in particular at all.)

It's a sad fact that when people volunteer for these things all too willingly they then get bagged for not doing it fast enough, or at all, by people who simply want to browse past the site for their own advantage. What incentive then should the volunteer be offered to spend time doing it? I'm not talking money, I'm talking understanding. The fact that anyone does it at all is to be applauded, not unfairly criticised.

I don't believe the website is the first point of contact for any Club. It's the Members, word of mouth, social interaction and networking. We tend to rely on the anonymity of the Internet far too much and expect it to supply answers to all of our questions.

All that being said, I'll take up this discussion with the new Committee and we'll see what, if anything, can be done.

In the meantime, please be a little understanding of the work being done by unpaid volunteers to satisfy your lust for more cars on the Internet.

OK, I've got all that off my chest and I feel cleansed!

It's time to be nice again!

Cheers, Pottsy.

PS, Oh, and Speedy, thanks for the nice words. Want my autograph? Seriously, I hope people get as much fun from my pieces as I do writing them.

So true Pottsy, and its unfortunate that this is the way things always happen. I have had my fair share of similar roles and it really is sad the way your fellow members treat you at times.

Even at work now (I'm a systems admin at an independent K-12 School, (thats P-12 for Victorians)) and its generally expected that if it plugs in its my responsibility. Gee, I get to fix the sandwich toaster too.
